Across four evenings, the school’s drama studio was transformed into a stage where students from Years 9 to 13 showcased their incredible talent and passion for the performing arts.
The dynamic choreography, vibrant costumes, and expertly performed musical numbers transported the audience to the glamorous world of 1920s Chicago. Standout jail and courtroom scenes, including star performances from our very own Velma Kelly, Roxy Hart, Fred Casley, Amos Hart, Matron “Mama” Morton and the whole ensemble were fantastic to see.
Set in the jazz era of the ‘Roaring Twenties’, convicted women, Roxie Hart and Velma Kelly, navigate the corrupt justice system and compete for the spotlight. The story explores themes of crime, celebrity culture, ambition and the ultimate search for the ‘American Dream’.
